Coming soon: Laravel and Node.js on Netkeel

Since we launched, Netkeel has been the place to run WordPress on a private cloud server, without doing the server work. But many of our customers build more than WordPress sites: a Laravel back office next to the company website, a Node.js API behind a mobile app, a small PHP tool that has been running for years. Today, those apps need a second host.

We are building Laravel and Node.js hosting into Netkeel, on the same servers and in the same panel, with the backups, security and support you already have. Here is what we are working on.

Laravel, managed

You will bring your Laravel application, and Netkeel will take care of the stack around it:

• Your choice of PHP: PHP 8.0 to 8.5, set per application.
• Composer and Artisan: dependencies installed when you deploy, and Artisan commands from the panel or over SSH.
• Queues and the scheduler: queue workers kept running for you, and the Laravel scheduler running every minute without setting up cron.
• Environment settings: your .env values managed in the panel instead of edited on the server.
• Databases and Redis: MariaDB and Redis on the server, ready for your app's database, cache and sessions.

Node.js, kept running

Node.js apps need a process that never stops. Netkeel will run it for you:

• Your Node.js version, chosen per app.
• Start command and environment variables set in the panel.
• Always on: your app starting with the server and restarting automatically if it crashes.
• HTTPS in front: your app behind the web server, with a free SSL certificate on your domain.
• Logs in the panel: what your app prints, without opening a terminal.

Everything else you already know

Laravel and Node.js apps will get the same platform as every Netkeel site: preview addresses with HTTPS, automatic backups with off-site copies to your own bucket, the firewall and automatic banning, isolated apps with their own SSH and SFTP logins, uptime monitoring, free migration and fast support.

And the pricing model stays the same. You will pay for the server by the hour and can mix WordPress sites, Laravel apps and Node.js apps on one server, as many as it can carry.
