Node.js hosting Beta

Node.js hosting that keeps your app running.

Your Node.js app runs as its own process behind NGINX on a private cloud server. Netkeel keeps it running, restarts it for you and checks every deploy, so a release that does not answer never stays live.

30-day money-back guarantee · Billed by the hour · No contract

How it works

Node.js live in three steps.

STEP 1

Create a Node.js server

Choose Node.js, a cloud provider, a region and a size. Every website on the server is a Node.js app.

From 1 GB · $9.50/mo
STEP 2

Add a website

Choose the Node.js version, the start command and a health check path. It starts with a placeholder app on its own HTTPS preview address.

npm start · /health
STEP 3

Deploy your code

Connect your repository and click Deploy now, or upload with SFTP and click Restart.

npm ci · npm run build

What you get

What Netkeel does for Node.js.

Kept runningNetkeel runs your start command as the website's own user and restarts the app for you.
Health-checked deploysAfter each deploy the app must answer on its health check path within 30 seconds, or the website goes back to the previous release.
Start, stop and restartStatus, uptime, memory and restarts in the panel, refreshed while the page is open.
Recent logThe app's latest output, with the values of your environment variables hidden.
Environment variablesSet them in the panel; they are passed to the app when it starts.
Your Node.js versionNode.js 20, 22 or 24, changed with Save and restart.
Git deploy with rollbackGitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket, a branch or a commit, and rollback to any release still kept.
Optional databaseA MySQL-compatible database (MariaDB) when your app needs one.
Daily backupsOne-click restore, plus encrypted off-site copies, on from the start.

On every server too: a firewall with automatic banning, free SSL, logs, monitoring and alerts, and team access with roles. See all features →

Good to know

What is not available yet.

Node.js websites don't run PHP. Deploys start when you click Deploy now, not on every push. Staging, cloning and moving to another server are not available for Node.js websites yet.

Step-by-step guides are in the Node.js docs.

Pricing

Pay for the server, not for each site.

Servers start at $9.50/mo for 1 GB, billed by the hour and never more than the monthly price. Put as many Node.js apps on a server as it can carry.

  • Billed by the hour, capped at the monthly price
  • Off-site backup storage $0.03 per GB a month, or your own bucket

Questions

Node.js hosting, answered.

Which port should my app listen on?

The one in the PORT environment variable, for example with process.env.PORT. NGINX sends visitors to it.

What happens if a deploy breaks the app?

Netkeel restarts the app on the new release and requests its health check path. If it does not answer with a status from 200 to 399 within 30 seconds, the website goes back to the previous release and the log shows why.

Can my app use a database?

Yes. Tick Create a MySQL-compatible database (MariaDB) when you add the website, and connect through localhost or its socket.

Does it deploy when I push to my repository?

No. Deploys start when you click Deploy now in the panel. You can deploy the latest commit of the branch or a commit you choose.

What does beta mean?

Node.js hosting is new on Netkeel. Your websites are backed up and looked after like any other, but some features WordPress websites have, such as staging, cloning and moving to another server, are not available for Node.js yet.

Launch your first server today.

Create your account, add a payment method and launch a server in a few minutes. Netkeel handles the updates, backups and security.
