Two-factor authentication
With two-factor authentication on, signing in needs your password and a six-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. Someone who learns your password still cannot sign in without the code.
Any TOTP app works, for example Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”- Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Account settings.
- Open Two-factor auth and click Turn on.
- Enter your current password and click Continue.
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. If you can’t scan it, click Copy key and enter the Setup key in the app by hand.
- Enter the six-digit code the app shows and click Turn on.
- Your recovery codes appear. Click Copy codes and store them somewhere safe, such as a password manager.
- Click I have saved them.
If you signed up with Google and have no password yet, set one first. See Your profile.
Sign in with two-factor on
Section titled “Sign in with two-factor on”- Enter your email and password as usual.
- When asked for the Authentication code, enter the code from your app.
If you lose your phone
Section titled “If you lose your phone”- At the Authentication code step, enter one of your recovery codes instead of the app code.
- Once you are in, open Two-factor auth, turn it off, then turn it on again with your new phone. You get a new set of recovery codes.
The Two-factor auth section shows how many recovery codes you have left. Each code works once.
If you have neither your phone nor a recovery code, email Netkeel support at support@netkeel.com. See Getting help.
Turn it off
Section titled “Turn it off”- Open Two-factor auth and click Turn off.
