Add your first website

Once you have a server that shows Online, you can add websites to it. Adding a website does not create a server and costs nothing extra.

Today, new websites are set up with WordPress. Netkeel installs it for you and creates your administrator login.

  1. Open Websites and click Add website. You can also open a server and click Add website at the top of its page.
  2. On step 1 Website, choose how to start:
    • With a domain: type it under Domain, for example example.com. The site is built on a preview address first, so your domain does not need to point anywhere yet.
    • Without a domain: click No domain yet? Start without one and give the website a name, such as “My shop”. It runs on its own preview address until you connect a domain.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. On step 2 Server, pick the server. Only servers that are online can be chosen. Each one shows its size, its number of websites and how full its disk is.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. On step 3 Review, check the details. Cost reads “No extra charge: it uses your existing server”.
  7. Click Install WordPress.

A WordPress administration window shows the username, email address and password for the new site, with buttons to copy each one. It also shows progress: Install WordPress on your server, then Set up HTTPS and finish.

You can click Continue in background and carry on. The same credentials are kept in the website’s WordPress settings.

When the install finishes, open the website from Websites. A banner at the top shows its preview address, which works with HTTPS straight away. Build and test the site there.

When you are ready for visitors, take your website live on your own domain.
