Which web server answers
Section titled “Which web server answers”The card at the top says which web server the website’s server runs, Nginx only or Nginx + Apache, and what that means for this website:
- Nginx only:
.htaccessfiles are ignored. Use Redirects and the other sections of the panel instead. - Nginx + Apache: for websites that run PHP, your
.htaccessrules work. Nginx still serves images, CSS, JavaScript and fonts itself. - Node.js, EmDash and static websites never read
.htaccess, even on Nginx + Apache: Nginx serves their files or passes requests to the app.
On websites that run PHP and on static websites, images, CSS, JavaScript and fonts are compressed and cached by browsers for 30 days.
The web server is chosen when the server is created. See Create a server.
Allow other sites to load your files (CORS)
Section titled “Allow other sites to load your files (CORS)”Cross-origin access lets other sites or apps you own load this website’s images, CSS and JavaScript from the browser. Fonts are already allowed everywhere.
- Under Cross-origin access (CORS), type each address in Allowed origins, one per line, with
https://and without a path, for examplehttps://app.example.com. You can add up to 20. - Click Save.
Netkeel checks the new configuration before it is used. This setting only adds permission; it never blocks anything. Click Discard to undo changes you haven’t saved.
