Databases

Each website has its own MySQL-compatible database, and you can add more. Open the website and go to Hosting › Databases. Two tabs at the top switch between Databases and Users.

The card at the top, WordPress database, shows the login the website itself uses: Database name, Database user, Host (localhost) and Password. Click the eye to reveal the password, or the copy buttons to copy any value.

Click Open Adminer to manage the database in your browser. Adminer opens in a new tab, already signed in.

The main database and its user can’t be deleted, and the user’s access to it is fixed.

  1. On the Databases tab, click Add database.
  2. Type a Database name using letters, numbers, $ and _ (up to 64 characters).
  3. Click Add database.
  1. On the Users tab, click Add user. You need at least one database first.
  2. Fill in Username, choose the Database it gets access to, and type a Password of at least 10 characters, or click Generate.
  3. Click Add user.

Click an added database to manage it. Under User access, choose each user’s level:

  • None
  • Read Only
  • Read & Write Only
  • Full
  • Custom, to pick the exact permissions.

On the same page:

  • Import SQL file: click Choose file, pick a .sql file up to 500 MB, then click Import. Netkeel takes a safety backup first and imports in the background. Follow it in the activity panel.
  • Export SQL file: click Download to get the database as a .sql file.

To move the main database’s content in or out, use backups or Hosting › Import & export.

On the Users tab, click a user, type a New password or generate one, and click Update password. For the website’s own database user, Netkeel writes the new password into the website’s configuration in the same step, so the website keeps working.

Open the menu on an added database or user and choose Delete database or Delete user.
