Restore a deleted website
When you delete a website, its files, databases and the backups on its server are deleted. If its server had off-site backup on, the off-site copies of its backups are kept, at no charge, for 30 days. Until then you can download them or bring the website back.
Find the backups
Section titled “Find the backups”Open Websites and scroll to Recently deleted at the bottom of the list. Each deleted website is listed by its domain, with the date it was deleted and how many days are left before its copies are removed. The section only appears when there is something in it.
Restore the website
Section titled “Restore the website”- Next to the backup you want, click Restore.
- Choose the Server to put it on. Only servers that can receive a website are offered.
- Enter the Domain. The website’s old domain is filled in; you can use another domain you own. It must not be used by another website.
- Click Restore website.
Netkeel creates a new website on that server, brings the backup back from off-site storage and restores its files, database and settings. This runs in the background; follow it under the bell icon. The website appears under Websites when it is ready. Then connect its domain as usual.
Once restored, the backup belongs to the new website and is no longer removed after 30 days. If the restore fails, the new website is marked as failed: delete it and try again. Deleting it gives the backup another 30 days.
Delete the backups now
Section titled “Delete the backups now”To remove a deleted website’s backups straight away (for example when it held customer data), click Delete permanently next to it, tick the box and confirm. The copies are removed from off-site storage and the website can no longer be restored.
Download a backup
Section titled “Download a backup”Click Download next to a backup to save it as a single file with the website’s files, database and settings.
Who can do this
Section titled “Who can do this”Recently deleted is shown to the workspace owner and super admins. Collaborators manage the backups of their websites from each website’s Backups tab.
